Analysis of satellite data once daily (TERRA MODIS, NOAA, MTSAT, GEOS -9) is our primary tool for monitoring of all volcanoes of the Kurile Islands.
Visual observations are used for the volcanoes of Kunashir and Iturup Islands.
Surface instrumental observations are absent; there are no seismic networks on any of these Kurile volcanoes and our ability to detect the onset of volcanic unrest is limited
SVERT will issue these notices weekly unless volcanic activity increases. The report is published on SVERT and AVO web sites:

Volcanoes of the Paramushir ( Ebeko, Chikurachki, Tatarinov Group, Fuss, Karpinsky Group) and Atlasov (Alaid) Islands are monitored by Kamchatka Group KVERT.
